Onion Pakoda

Ingredients :

-Gram Flour(Besan) 1 cup
-Rice Flour 0.4 cup(1:0.4 ratio)
Green chillies some (stright chopped)
Ginger finely sliced 1 piece
big Onion 1
Jeera 1/2 tbsp
baking powder 1/2 tsp
cashew nuts optional
curry leaves
oil to mix 2 tbsp
salt

 

Preparation:

  1. Take a bowl add very thin sliced onions, green chillies,ginger sliced,curry leaves, if you want to add cashew nuts soke in water for 10min and then add it to the onions,salt mix well.
  2. In another bowl add basen,rice flour, salt, jeera, baking powder, oil, now add the onion mixture mix well if need sprinkle water(normally moisture from onion itself enough) and mix well again.
  3. Heat oil and deep fry till it is golden brown.

Mysore Pak

Mysore Pak

Ingredients

Bengal Gram – 1 cup
Sugar – 2 cups
Oil – 11/2 cup
Ghee – 1 cup
Water -1/2 cup

Method

Flour mixed with oil
1 cup oil + 1cup Ghee Mix
  1. Mix the flour with ½ cup of oil, so that no lumps are formed.
  2. Mix 1 cup oil with 1 cup Ghee in a separate bowl.
  3. Heat the sugar in ½ cup water till reaches a ball consistency(1 sting).
  4. Slowly add the mix  into sugar syrup & stirring continuously.
  5. When it is well blended pour in oil +Ghee mix( slowly in regular intervals ) & stirring continuously.
  6. Cook till the mixture becomes frothy and the oil separates(20 min).
  7. Spread out on a greased plate. 
  8. When firm cut the mysore pak into squares.
